“Will You Finally Do What You Have Been Called to Do?”

Hello.

How are you?

Today, let’s consider an important part of our journey in life, the CALL and the WILL of God.

Matthew 11:27-30

“All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

The Bible is a book about journey. From Genesis to Revelation, the almighty Father called and performed His executive order in and through individuals in the chronicles of events in the Bible

While men and women were groping in the dark for true life that satisfies, He interrupted their journey through an inward call that became expressed outwardly. He is God!

If you are Abraham, your call is to leave your ancestral land to a new land that the Lord God will show you. A Pioneer.

If you are Joshua, your journey is into conquest and to divide the Promised Land and apportion the units to families/tribes as dictated by the Lord God. A leader.

If you are Paul, your call is to be a Preacher, an Apostle and a Teacher of the Gospel of Christ to the Gentiles, “for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth”
(1 Timothy 2:7). A minister.

Everyone who came to God had the effective calling of God to salvation working in their hearts first.

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ had come to reveal the Father to us through the Son. He is the complete revelation of the righteousness of God.

Christ starts with the call to salvation. After the salvific call, He calls you to learn from Him and receive the truth from His mouth; it is His walk with you in biblical discipleship.

Biblical discipleship makes you Christlike, but bogus discipleship creates a believer that behaves after the pattern of a man or woman.

Christ said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

Christ is life. He is the eternal life and the true life that satisfies. Therefore, “My son, if you receive my (His) words, and treasure my commands within you, 2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;

3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding,

4 If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; 5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.

6 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;” (Proverbs 2:1-7).

Wisdom for living comes out of the mouth of God. Jesus has been made to us the wisdom of God. He reveals the Father, the Father’s way, will and character to us, if we will be His disciple.

In Isaiah 50:4,

“The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.”

“Learned” here is the Old Testament Hebrew word for disciple.

the tongue
‎לְשׁ֣וֹן (lə·šō·wn)
Noun – common singular construct
Strong’s Hebrew 3956: 1) tongue 1a) tongue (of men)

of discipleship,
‎לִמּוּדִ֔ים (lim·mū·ḏîm)
Adjective – masculine plural
Strong’s Hebrew 3928: 1) taught, learned, discipled 1a) taught 1b) accustomed to (something)

… to listen
‎לִשְׁמֹ֖עַ (liš·mō·a‘)

Strong’s Hebrew 8085: v 1) to hear, listen to, obey 1a) (Qal) 1a1) to hear (perceive by ear) 1a2) to hear of or concerning 1a3) to hear (have power to hear) 1a4) to hear with attention or interest, to listen to, yield to 1a9) to obey, be obedient….1d3) to make proclamation, summon

as a disciple.
‎כַּלִּמּוּדִֽים׃ (kal·lim·mū·ḏîm)

From salvation to the walk of discipleship, we must continue to hold fast the confidence (confession) and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

The Scripture says, “For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God… 6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end” (Hebrews 6:4-,6).

APPLICATION

You are saved and delivered from the wrath to come. Praise God!

But …

Are you walking with the Lord daily?

Do you demonstrate the gospel of Christ in your conduct?

Are you in pursuit of His executive order with joy from your heart?

Have you heard the CALL?
